Who are we?

We are the international educational division of Macmillan Publishers Limited, one of the world’s best known, privately owned, publishing groups. Founded in 1843 in London, Macmillan publishes educational, academic, reference, literary and children’s books. We have offices in London, Oxford and Basingstoke with associated companies throughout the world.

In 1995, Verlagsgruppe Georg Von Holtzbrinck, Germany’s largest educational publisher, acquired a majority stake in the Macmillan group. Recent acquisitions by Macmillan include, in 1997, Heinemann English Language Teaching.
